At RUSH 2The DEN, we believe that everyone deserves a safe, welcoming space to connect, play, learn and grow – no matter their age.
Our Babies, Tots & Adults sessions are designed to bring the community together through fun, friendly and inclusive activities for little ones and their grown-ups. Whether you are looking for somewhere for your child to explore, a chance to meet other families, or simply a place to enjoy quality time together, you will always find a warm welcome here.
We run a variety of sessions throughout the week, each offering something a little different – from sensory and messy play to role play, soft play and more active sessions. Every day is built around giving children the freedom to explore, learn and develop in a way that feels natural to them.
A space to play, learn and belong
Play is a vital part of early childhood development, and our sessions are designed to support this in a fun and relaxed environment.
Through play, children can:
- Build confidence and independence
- Develop fine and gross motor skills
- Improve coordination and concentration
- Learn to share, take turns and interact with others
- Explore their creativity and imagination
- Discover the world through their senses
Just as importantly, our sessions give adults the chance to slow down, connect with their children and meet other parents, carers and families in the local community.
Our Weekly Sessions
We offer a range of drop-in sessions across the week, each with its own theme:
Mondays – Push Pull Play
A movement-based session with ride-ons, walkers, puzzles and more to support active play and coordination.
Tuesdays – Messy Play
A creative, sensory session full of textures, colours and hands-on fun. Don’t forget to dress for mess!
Wednesdays – Stay N Play
A relaxed session with a variety of toys and activities, offering something new to explore each week.
Thursdays – Let’s Pretend
Imaginative role play where children can become anything they want to be.
Fridays – Soft Play
A calm and safe space with soft equipment, ball pits and sensory play, perfect for younger children.
Session Information
All Babies, Tots & Adults sessions are:
- Drop-in – no booking required
- Open from 9:15am to 2:45pm
- Last entry at 2pm
- £2.50 per child
You are welcome to stay for as long as you like within the session times, making it easy to fit around naps, feeds and daily routines.
Pre-Pay Cards
The £2.50 entry fee can be reduced with the purchase of a pre-pay card. The pre-pay cards assist parents in reducing the cost; a 5-visit card is £10, and a 10-visit card is £15.
Pre-pay cards have an additional hidden support functionality. If we feel a child or parent would benefit from attending, yet their financial hardships prevent regular attendance, we can give free prepaid cards to these adults.
These ‘free’ pre-pay cards are paid for by donations from Co-op, Tesco, or Asda customers’ ‘vote for’ token choices. We enable health visitors, midwives and social care providers to give families some of these free pre-pay cards when referring to Tots & Adults.
Northampton Community Foundation is a regular provider of grants for either Messy Play or Crafty Fingers consumables, our higher-cost consumable days
Weekend Sessions at RUSH 2The DEN
We know weekdays do not work for everyone, so we also offer special Saturday sessions for families to enjoy.
Dad’s Stay N Play takes place on the first Saturday of each month, creating a welcoming space for dads, grandads and male carers to spend quality time with their little ones through play and connection.
SaturPlay, held on the third Saturday of each month, is designed especially for working parents who may not be able to attend during the week. It offers the same friendly, relaxed environment for children to play, explore and socialise.
Both sessions give families the chance to enjoy everything RUSH 2The DEN has to offer in a warm, inclusive and community-focused setting.

Our sessions are run by dedicated volunteers who are passionate about creating a safe environment where children can be themselves and families feel comfortable and supported. We understand that every child is different, and we encourage play that is child-led, pressure-free and inclusive of all abilities.
