Tuesdays – 8→10s

8-10s is RUSH 2The DEN’s youth club for children aged 8 to 10. It’s a lively, energetic group where young people can have fun, build friendships, and enjoy a mix of creative and active sessions.

The group runs every Tuesday from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.

A fun and active environment

8→10s follows a similar structure to our 5→7s sessions, offering a balance of creativity, free play, and structured activities. However, with slightly older children, the sessions naturally become more energetic, with plenty of opportunities for movement and teamwork.

Each week, young people can enjoy:

  • leader-led craft activities
  • a range of toys and games available for free play
  • more active, running-style games where space allows
  • time to socialise and build friendships in a relaxed setting

A familiar but flexible structure

Sessions are designed to give young people both routine and choice.

  • Welcome time: A chance to settle in, sign in, and chat about their week
  • Activity time: Moving freely between crafts, games, and activities
  • Social time: Building friendships and enjoying group play
  • Home time: Collecting belongings and heading home at 8:00pm

This flexible approach helps young people feel comfortable while still encouraging independence and confidence.

Extra opportunities and experiences

As part of the 8→10s group, young people also have access to a wider range of activities and events throughout the year.

These can include:

  • joining occasional group rambles
  • taking part in all three days of the Weandel Walk
  • getting involved in the Soapbox Derby at Hall Park
  • a summer kayaking session

These experiences give young people the chance to try new things, build confidence, and enjoy activities beyond the weekly sessions.

A place to grow and connect

8→10s is a vibrant, supportive space where young people can express themselves, try new activities, and enjoy being part of a group.

At RUSH 2The DEN, we are proud to offer a club that combines creativity, activity, and opportunity – helping young people make memories, develop new skills, and have fun every week.
